The Langley Chamber has long advocated for better service at the Aldergrove Border Crossing to better serve the needs of our business community and trading economy.

• Langley Chamber Pushes for Expanded Service, Hours at Aldergrove Border
  • The Aldergrove Border is the second busiest in BC and the 7th busiest in the country, and needs longer service times and better capacity to serve the growing economic needs of the south of the Fraser business community

• Langley Chamber Spearheads Expansion of Aldergrove Commercial Truck Service
  • The Langley Chamber lead efforts to preserve and then expand the commercial services at the Aldergrove border crossing, fighting back when it was proposed to close the commercial lanes.

• Greater Collection of Duty and Taxes at The Canada-U.S. Border
  • Communities at border crossings, like Langley, are losing money because day-trippers who should pay taxes on cross-border shopping are often not required to pay the required taxes and duties.  While good for consumers, this encourages cross-border shopping, undercutting local businesses and reducing tax revenue for BC projects. The Langley Chamber has worked through the Canadian Chamber of Commerce to push for better enforcement.
