Congratulations to our new MLA's

Langley – The Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce is ready to work with our 2 new MLA’s Andrew Mercier and Megan Dykeman, on matters important to our local business community.

Elections B.C. has confirmed that Andrew Mercier and Megan Dykeman have won the ridings of Langley and Langley East, after the mail-in ballots were counted for the Oct. 24 provincial election.

“We congratulate Mr. Mercier and Ms. Dykeman on being elected as MLA’s for Langley and Langley East and we look forward to establishing a positive and constructive relationship with them both.,” said Brad Kiendl, Greater Langley Chamber president.

“The next step will be for the Chamber to reach out to both MLA’s and discuss issues significant to our membership, including the need for Covid-related business support, easing the labour shortage so many employers experience and making sure that the issues that effect the Langleys are brought forward. As part of the government caucus, Mr. Mercier and Ms. Dykeman are our direct conduit to Victoria.”

We also want to thank all of the candidates, in the two ridings, that participated in the Democratic process. “It is not easy to put yourself out there in such a public manner, but having individuals willing to stand up for their beliefs is critical to our democratic process. Thank you for running,” said Kiendl.

The Chamber would also like to thank Mary Polak and Rich Coleman for serving the Langleys as MLA’s for so many years. Both former MLA’s were Chamber Champions on issues such as Hwy 1 expansion, Skytrain to Langley, and so many other issues that we have worked with the Provincial government on to improve the Langley’s. We thank them for their contributions to our community and wish them well in their future endeavours.
